Your primary focus as Head of Academic Quality & Standards will be to ensure that institutional policy, procedure and practice supports academic quality and standards at all levels of the university. We are seeking an enthusiastic leader with strong communication, analytical, and influencing skills to review and enhance our current approach in the Academic Standards and Quality Office (ASQ).
In this role you will help 12,000 students in London change their lives through the power of part-time, full-time and evening study. You will ensure that centrally agreed policy is implemented and adopted consistently. You will lead an established and professional ASQ team but as the external environment creates more scrutiny on the sector we need to continually enhance what we do and make policy implementation consistent and transparent across all areas.
In this role you will gain exposure across all levels of the College. You will advise and guide members of Academic Board, Education Committee and Education Strategy Group on a regular basis. You will form productive working relationships with the Academic Registrar, with your team, your peers and the Pro Vice Master for Education and the Director of Education Strategy in particular. Working with Heads of Department and Assistant Deans: Education you will ensure that quality and standards matters are consistently considered with appropriate and relevant data and guidance. A strong candidate will have had experience of supporting academic and administrative staff during a period of change. Excellent written, spoken and analytical skills are essential for success in this role.
You will become a member of the Registry Services Senior Management Team (SMT) and this will afford insight in to the full portfolio of student and academic services delivered by the function.

In order to be successful in this role you should be abloe to demonstrate:
- Knowledge of quality assurance and enhancement in higher education both at institutional and national level, including a good understanding of current developments
- Extensive knowledge of external body quality requirements including OfS, OIA, PSRB, QAA.
- Significant management experience and experience of delivering a professional service in collaboration with academic departments;
- Ability to take and see through difficult decisions and to work on own initiative with self-motivation, energy, determination and resilience

This is a Grade 10 role and the salary will be agreed with the successful candidate.
The salary quoted is on the College’s London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
