What we need from you:
– Drive to help improve the lives of children with SEN needs
– PGCE, QTS or equivalent
– Experience and evidence of working within an SEN environment – ideally KS3
– Desire to develop and learn new skills
– Strong communication skills
– The ability to be a great role model!
– Driver – Preferable but not Essential
– Ability to adapt to challenging behaviour

The role requires someone who has the personal resilience to work in a role like this, yes, it’s time for that classic phrase ‘challenging but rewarding’. The people who’ll be selected for this role will have a student mentality and be willing to go that extra mile (when needed to). Of course as a teacher you’ll be good at communicating, and have a good concept of what high quality SEN education looks like, you’ll have had formal experience and hold your qualifications to teach. You’ll be able to support and encourage the independence of the students in your classroom, you’ll also be able to support and guide Teaching Assistants in your class. Of course, the usual remit of a teacher applies but you’ll be passionate about helping shape the lives of young people with additional/SEN needs.

Stability and routine are the foundations upon which we build relationships with the people in care; where we see them flourish, is in the support you provide by building amazing relationships and getting involved in the lives of people that are looked after whilst at school
